Pocket Sounds was launched in 2016 (formerly Saint Clair) by Austin-based multi-instrumentalist Mike St.Clair. Mike has worked for over a decade on various instruments with bands including Okkervil River, The Polyphonic Spree, White Denim, and countless others. He has toured extensively and is well-known in the Austin music community for his Bass, Trombone, and Synthesizer skills in the studio or live performances. As a session musician, Mike has created horn arrangements for many notable artists including Okkervil River, Andy Pickett, PR Newman, My Jerusalem, Monk Parker and The Midnight Stroll.
Occasionally performing solo or duo with live looping, Pocket Sounds has recently begun collaborating with an ensemble of Austin’s finest musicians to create an interactive, full-band performance. In 2017, 7&0 (Track 1) was used as a motif throughout the feature film High and Outside (Austin Film Fest 2017) suggesting that the emotionally charged and nostalgic arrangements translate to a broad audience.
